Review: L’Oreal Paris Color Infaillible Eyeshadow in 004 Forever Pink, 006 All Night Blue, 014 Eternal Black and 027 Goldmine

I decided to purchase four more of the L’Oreal Paris Color Infaillible eyeshadows after purchasing the shade in 001 Time Resist White. I was really impressed by the pigmentation as well as the longevity of the eyeshadow. For a more in-depth review of the quality of the eyeshadows, please check out my review of the L’Oreal Paris Color Infaillible eyeshadows in 001 Time Resist White at http://vvnprincess.blogspot.com/2011/12/review-loreal-paris-color-infaillible.html  J

004 Forever Pink
This is a really pretty shade of pink. It is not my usual Barbie/dolly pink. Instead it is a soft “pink gold” shade with a hint of metallic and shimmers that makes it more mature, but beautiful at the same time!

006 All Night Blue
This is a bold midnight blue that will be perfect for evening looks that are more smokey and dark. This would be especially nice because it is very pigmented and long lasting. It looks matte in the photo, but is actually metallic. It kind of reminds me of the head of a male peacock! LOL

014 Eternal Black
This is one of my favourites because it is a VERY dark black with silver shimmers in it! I can only imagine how elegant and beautiful it would be when used in an evening look.

027 Goldmine
This is my current favourite out of all of my L’Oreal Paris Color Infaillible eyeshadows. This is probably the PRETTIEST gold eyeshadow I’ve seen so far in my life. It is pigmented, wearable, and gorgeous. I went to almost four drugstores just to find it!!! In addition, it is a limited edition color. This makes me sad because if, for whatever reason, I need to repurchase, I would have to hope something equally as good (or even better) comes out.

Review: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 025 Peach Parfait

This will be a shorter review simply because I have previously reviewed four other Revlon Colorburst lip butters. I have looked very hard for this shade because it was one of the most popular shades of this line. Unfortunately, it is now one of the least favoured out of my entire collection. It is a very pretty color, but I actually find it hard to wear. I personally like the “soft girly pink” shades and so this was a little too dark for me. I will try to use it a few more times to see if I can try to work with it, but my initial application of this lipstick was quite disappointing. After purchasing five of these lipsticks, I conclude that my current favourite is the shade in Strawberry ShortcakeJ

Review: Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy Foundation in Porcelain

I have always wanted to try products from this line because I simply LOVE Carmindy. Every time I watch TLC’s What Not To Wear I would actually watch something else until the “half-hour” mark where she comes in to the show! As I was looking at the foundations, I was going to pick out the lightest shade in the “spray foundation” line. Unfortunately, I found that it was too dark for my skin. I then swatched the lightest shade in the liquid foundation line and thought it matched me a little better (even though it was a little light). It was actually quite expensive for a foundation that I purchased at a drugstore and so I had high hopes for it.
After using this for over half a year now, I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS FOUNDATION! I actually prefer using this over my BB creams. Why? Because BB creams have sun protection. I know sun protection is a good thing, but I do not need it during the evening where flash photography would take place. Also, I noticed that this foundation has better coverage while using a smaller amount on my face and is easier to blend. I apply this foundation the same I do with my BB cream- with my fingers, and it leaves a less oily/shiny finish. I am truly very happy with my purchase!

PROS
J GREAT coverage
J Gives a healthy finish
J Did not break me out
J Easy to apply
CONS
L Expensive for a drugstore brand
L A little light for my skin (but it still works)
L Heavy packaging (made of glass?)
OVERALL
This is my current favourite foundation! It is a 4.5/5J.
WOULD I REPURCHASE/PURCHASE FULL SIZE/PURCHASE MORE?
I would definitely repurchase this foundation, maybe in one shade darker.

Review: Yumei Moisture Eyeshadow in 09 and 11

My mom purchased these for me when she went to Hong Kong. My first impression was that the colors were gorgeous. They had that princess pink and purple idea. Also, the packaging is VERY nice. It just looks soooo sleek and beautiful and I will definitely NOT depot it. I had high expectations from this eyeshadow because generally, Japanese makeup works really well.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed by these eyeshadows. As much as I loved the packaging and the colors, they were very chalky. Also, they are not very pigmented and pretty much disappeared by the end of the day. It is very sad because Japanese makeup usually impresses me, but these ones were quite disappointing.

PROS
J Beautiful packaging
J Great colors
CONS
L Chalky
L Not pigmented
L Not long lasting
OVERALL
These eyeshadows were disappointing. They are a 2/5L.
WOULD I REPURCHASE/PURCHASE FULL SIZE/PURCHASE MORE?
Probably notL.

Review: BRTC Whitening & Repairing BB Cream

I tried this BB cream about a year ago and I don’t think it’s for me. First of all, the packaging is really cool. It is a large silver bottle that has a futuristic appearance to it. Also, the product itself feels very creamy and smells really nice. In addition, it had a medium coverage that reduces the need for concealer.
Unfortunately, after using it for a longer period of time, I started noticing some problems. The worst that happened was my skin breaking out like crazy. I had acne developing on my forehead and cheeks. I also started having LARGE blackheads/clogged pores on my nose (that was not there before). In addition, the product felt heavy on my face and left an oily/greasy feeling by the afternoon. It was really gross and I had to blot my face like crazy. Also, the product has a slight grey tint to it that made my skin look dull. I was quite disappointed.

PROS
J Nice packaging
J Great covereage
J Has SPF
J Smells good
CONS
L Broke my skin out
L Grey tint
L Oily/heavy feeling
OVERALL
I was very upset when it broke me out. The fact that it happened makes it a 1.5/5L.
WOULD I REPURCHASE/PURCHASE FULL SIZE/PURCHASE MORE?
Most likely not.

Review: Tweezerman Tweezer (pink)

I was never really too particular about my tweezers. I used to use drugstore tweezers, dollar store tweezers etc and was fine with them. As long as they worked, I would be happy with it.
My sister purchased the Tweezerman one for me as a gift which was really nice of her. It is pink with a rhinestone on the end which I think is really cute. After using this tweezer, I realized there is a difference between this one and the ones I used to use. It is priced quite a bit higher and so I did expect it to be better in some way, shape, or form!
I really like how it is bigger than the typical size of most tweezers because I think it is easier to precisely grasp my brow hairs. They do come in smaller sizes, but I personally prefer the bigger one. Also, the tips of the tweezer are slanted and thinner than my old tweezers. This makes it a lot easier to pluck individual brow hairs that are barely growing but irritating! In addition, I also noticed that I do not have to squeeze my hand as tightly before pulling the hair out. It is a lot easier and effortlessJ

PROS
J Pretty
J Easy to pluck short stubborn hairs
J Requires little effort to pluck
J Easy precision
CONS
L Pricey
OVERALL
This is a great tweezer! It works a lot better in comparison to my old ones! It is a 4.5/5J
WOULD I REPURCHASE/PURCHASE FULL SIZE/PURCHASE MORE?
I don’t think I will need to ever repurchase another one, but if for some reason it breaks, gets misplaced etc, I will repurchase itJ

Review: Covergirl Lipstick in 305 Hot Passion

This is a great red lipstick for those who want the Fall/Winter “red lips” look. I personally love this lipstick. The red shade is perfect for the look and is quite neutral. Also, it is very long lasting. I was very impressed as to how it was able to stay on my lips for a pretty long period of time. I was also worried about this lipstick drying my lips out and to my surprise, it looked so smooth. It is not as moist as my Revlon Lip Butters, but for a traditional lipstick, it is not bad at all. In addition, the packaging is really nice. It is very sleek and sophisticated looking.
The only issue I have with this lipstick is that it is quite difficult to remove. It is a lot of trouble because this lipstick stains my lips red which I really dislike.

PROS
J Beautiful red color
J Nice packaging
J Long lasting
J Does not dry up lips
CONS
L Difficult to remove at the end of the day
L Stains lips
OVERALL
This is one of my favoured lipsticks! It is a 4/5J
WOULD I REPURCHASE/PURCHASE FULL SIZE/PURCHASE MORE?
This was the only Covergirl lipstick shade that impressed me. I will most likely not purchase a different shade.

Review: Benefit BAD Gal Lash Mascara

I really wanted to like this mascara, but sadly I didn’t. First of all, I received this as a sample sized mascara from Sephora and so I didn’t really have anything to lose. I actually wanted to try this mascara out because I like Benefit as a brand overall. Most of their products really impressed me and I will be blogging about them in the near future.
To start off, there are a few things I DO like about this mascara. It does not clump and darkens my eyelashes. I did not have a problem with it doing “nothing” as a mascara. However, there are quite a few things that I am disappointed with.....
In my opinion, the brush is a little too big. It is to the point where it becomes a bit difficult to use and is unnecessary. Also, the formula is NOT waterproof. It is a HUGE problem for me because unless it is waterproof, I am very reluctant on using it as I tear up easily and I live in Canada (where snow tends to fly in my face). In addition, this mascara did not hold my curl and was straight down by the end of the day. It was not a huge problem as I wear falsies, but it led to another problem...smudging. I had mini racoon eyes by the end of the day and was not happy about it.

PROS
J Nice packaging
J Darkens lashes
J Does not clump
CONS
L Brush is too big
L Does not hold curl
L Not waterproof
L Smudges
OVERALL
I was disappointed with this mascara. I really wanted to like it. It is a 2/5L
WOULD I REPURCHASE/PURCHASE FULL SIZE/PURCHASE MORE?
I will not be purchasing the full size.

Review: The UNII Palette in Honeysuckle, Turquoise, Pear and Lavender

I fell in love with these palettes the moment I discovered them. At the time, they had the darker colors (Pomegranate, Lemongrass, Twilight etc) and each palette came with a steel plate instead to a magnetized plate. I wanted to order them, but they were out of stockL I checked again a few months after and they had new colors!!!! I was so happy because they were more on the soft pastel colors which I personally thought was really pretty. In addition, the plating is actually magnetized which eliminates the need for adding a magnet on MOST eyeshadow pans (excluding M.A.C. and Nyx eyeshadows).
As much as I do love these palettes, they are VERY expensive. I paid around $33 CAD (includes shipping, taxes etc) for one palette. They are cheaper if you buy more at one time, but I did not want to buy all 6 colors at once. I purchased the UNII palette in Honeysuckle first and I was REALLY impressed. It was absolutely gorgeous and had a beautiful glittery effect to it. In addition, it came with a magnet sheet that was the same as the ones that came with the old darker palettes. I sooooo stunned by the palette that....I ordered 3 moreJ! I purchased the palettes in Turquoise, Pear, and Lavender. I was equally as impressed by the beautiful colors of these palettes. The only thing different was that the magnet sheet that came with the 3 palettes were different from the one sent with my palette in Honeysuckle. The magnet sheet that came with my Honeysuckle palette had the UNII logo printed on the “writing” side of the sheet, was LARGE enough to cover my entire palette and was a THICK sheet of magnet. The other 3 that I ordered had no UNII logos on it, was WAY SMALLER than the other sheet and was quite thin. I am not sure as to why they did that, maybe it is meant to be an improvement, but I was very confused.
When I received my UNII palettes, I was shocked to see how small they were! They are great in terms of quality, but I easily filled up all my palettes. They are however, great for travelling. If I really take some time and try, I could fit an eyeshadow brush in there and a flat blush brush as well as my essentials. It was really be nice if they would come out with a new UNII palette that is BIGGER, I’m talking laptop size!
Unii Palette in Honeysuckle

Unii Palette in Turquoise

Unii Palette in Pear

 Unii Palette in Lavender

-The magnet sheets that came with my recent 3 palettes
PROS
J Beautiful
J Handy to have
J Great for travelling
CONS
L Expensive
L A bit on the small size
L Long wait to ship to Canada
L Not as easy to clean compared to their previous palettes
OVERALL
I love these palettes! They are a 4.5/5J
WOULD I REPURCHASE/PURCHASE FULL SIZE/PURCHASE MORE?
I am actually going to buy the remaining 2 colors on their site (Crystal and Midnight). If they do come out with other colors, I will probably get them too. I am hoping they will come out with some sort of a green, orange and grey!

Review: Smashbox Soft Lights in Prism

A friend of mine gave this to me and I am very happy about it! I was worried about using it because whenever I use pink blushes, they tend to turn out to be red on my skin. Unfortunately, that happened when I used this blush. It doesn’t turn red immediately, but it does happen by the time I walk out the door. In addition, the blush itself is very messy to use and is very powdery. The packaging is not my favourite because it is a separate lid that is twisted on and so the loose blush gets trapped between “screw”. It is annoying to use and cleanL.

PROS
J Blendable
J Lightweight on face
CONS
L Turns red
L Annoying packaging
L Messy
L Too shimmery
OVERALL
This blush was quite disappointing. It is a 3/5K.
WOULD I REPURCHASE/PURCHASE FULL SIZE/PURCHASE MORE?
I would probably not repurchase this.

Review: Smashbox Blush Rush in Gingersnap

I wanted a darker blush for the winter time as it looks very flattering and gives a nice warm look to the face. This was a color that I would normally not go for and stands out in my collection of blushes. I was a little bit hesitant on trying this color because it is a DEEP reddish brown color that ALMOST reminds me of a bronzer, but even deeper in color.
After using this blush, I really do love it! It is actually quite wearable if it is carefully applied and can look really pretty. It is easily blended and gives a nice contoured look to the face. Also, the packaging is quite nice. It comes with a mirror that slides out and the opening is magnetized. I normally do not reapply blush and so the mirror is not necessary in my case.

PROS
J Wearable
J Nice packaging
J Easily blended
J Lasts long
CONS
L Mirror is unnecessary
OVERALL
I am quite impressed by this blush. It is a 4/5J.
WOULD I REPURCHASE/PURCHASE FULL SIZE/PURCHASE MORE?
I would like to try other colors of this blush!
