Review: Sephora Detail Eyelash Curler

I purchased this eyelash curler by default a few years ago. At the time, I thought, why not? It didn’t hurt to have a tool that would make sure every single one of my lashes will be curled. I was quite interested at the time when I made the purchase, but after that, I didn’t really use it too often lol.

PROS
J helps curl lashes on the outer corner of my eyes
J helps curl demi-lashes
CONS
L not really a necessity
L time consuming when using it
OVERALL
It is a great product, however, it was not something I really needed. I will give this a 3/5K
WOULD I REPURCHASE/PURCHASE FULL SIZE/PURCHASE MORE?
I don’t think I will be repurchasing this later on.

Review: Beautymate Anti-Blemish Repairing Mask

I love using masks once in a while. It feels great as it replenishes my skin and I can go to bed right after! I particularly chose this mask because I have acne-prone and oily skin. Also, this is the one I see most often in magazines as well as blogs such as Ekimura’s.

PROS
J Does not dry out my skin like most acne products
J Makes my skin feel great the next day
J Refreshes my skin
CONS
L can be sticky if I don’t massage the majority of the product into my skin after removing the mask
OVERALL
J I love it! It’s a 4/5
WOULD I REPURCHASE/PURCHASE FULL SIZE/PURCHASE MORE?
Yes I would! I would also like to try other different types of masks from Beautymate as well.

Review: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Creme 725 Love That Red

I have never really tried red lip colours before and this recently happened to be the first one I tried. It was inexpensive compared to many other brands and the colour looked great as well. I was kind of reluctant because I personally like matte lipsticks more, but I decided to try this one because I really liked the colour.

PROS
J I love the colour, it was neutral for the most part but with a tiny bit of coral to it
J It is inexpensive for a lipstick
Jpretty good in quality, long lasting
CONS
L took me a little longer to remove compared to my other lipsticks
OVERALL
J I really love this colour as well as Revlon lipsticks. It is a 4.5/5!
WOULD I REPURCHASE/PURCHASE FULL SIZE/PURCHASE MORE?
J I would love to try more colours!

Review: O.P.I. Nail Lacquer in Not Like The Movies

Over the summer, I purchased the O.P.I. Katy Perry “minis” collection. I originally only wanted one colour, but thought it would be better to try a variety. One of my favourites is the shade in “Not Like The Movies”. It is a very pretty metallic shade with minor hints of silver, greens and purples and I think this is very appropriate for the fall time with the hint of edge to it.

PROS
JVery pretty colour for the fall time
JVery good in quality and long lasting
CONS
LSince I purchased it in the “mini” form, the bottle does not come with a big brush and minimizes the ease of application
Lthe “mini” bottle does not include a metal ball inside to mix the nail polish that prevents it from drying
OVERALL
JIt is a very nice colour with a high quality formula, I give this a 4/5
WOULD I REPURCHASE/PURCHASE FULL SIZE/PURCHASE MORE?
J Yes I would like to purchase the full size.

Review: Ardell Fashion Lashes in #102 Demi Black

This is my current favourite pair of false eyelashes. I have actually purchased these quite a long time ago and have been repurchasing them ever since.

PROS: They are inexpensive and fairly decent in quality. Also, I really love the shape of these lashes. It gives a really sweet and pretty look to the eyes. I wear them on a daily basis and they work well with my makeup routineJ.

CONS: I have to replace these lashes quite frequently. In comparison to my higher quality lashes, these ones can be worn about 4-5 times whereas, the other ones are approximately 10 times.
OVERALL: I really love these lashes. They are affordable and work very well with my eyes. I give these a 4.5/5J.

Review: Ardell Fashion Lashes in #108 Black

I purchased these lashes recently at my local drugstore and thought the shape of these were very common among different brands. It wasn’t too dramatic so I decided to give these a try. After using these lashes with my “every day” look, I noticed that these lashes were too natural for me. The reason is due to the fact that the amount of eyeliner I apply on seems to take over the lashes. This causes the lashes to go unnoticeable and pointless.

PROS: These lashes are perfect for a natural look with a THIN application of eyeliner. Also, the quality and price of these lashes are quite reasonable. So far, I have not been disappointed with a pair of Ardell lashes.

CONS: These lashes do not go well with MY personal daily routine of makeup.
OVERALL: These are great lashes. They might not be the ones for me, but I am sure that I can maybe cut and adjust them to my liking. I give these a 4/5J.

Review: Ardell Fashion Lashes in #110 Black

I wear false eyelashes on a daily basis and I really love trying different shapes and sizes. False lashes make a huge difference to my eyes. They not only make my lashes look longer, but they can also change the shape as well. In my opinion, these lashes look quite natural on my eyes. I know they might not look that way to most people, but the colour is actually quite faint. These look great with a THIN application of eyeliner.

PROS: They are quite inexpensive in comparison to most eyelashes. It is reasonable for me because I wear false eyelashes regularly. I also love how the lashes are soft and do not have a “plastic/shiny” appearance.

CONS: These lashes lasts up to approximately 4-5 applications depending on how well I take care of them. It is actually not that long because I can only wear each pair for a week. Also, these lashes are not high quality, but they are great for the price paid.
OVERALL: These are very natural lashes that are affordable. I give them a 4/5J.

Review: Sephora Collection Professional Brushes in #24 Smokey Eye

This is also another one of my brushes that I use on a daily basis. It is not only used as a brush to create smokey shadows, but also to define my crease. I am not a fan of the usual crease brushes because I’ve noticed that they are way too big for my eyes. I’m pretty sure they would be great for Caucasians, but being Asian, the #24 brush is the right size and shape for my eyes.

PROS: I really love the quality of this brush. It is soft and not harsh on my eyes. I also the way it looks, it is very professional and sleek. In addition, it is very lightweight and easy to use. I personally think this is the perfect brush to use to define my crease. To be completely honest, not all brushes work well on my eyes, I believe most Asians have the same problem. Fortunately, this was the perfect brush even though it was not the brush’s original purpose.
CONS: Similar to all my Sephora brushes, they are quite expensive. I usually have to think twice before making the purchase.
OVERALL: I love this brushJ I give this a 5/5.

Review: Sephora by O.P.I. Nail Colour in What’s Your Poison?

I was looking for a glittery red nail polish for quite some time. I was immediately drawn to it when I entered Sephora. It’s a perfect fall colour and it’s HOT! It definitely screamed “Perfect Fall colour”J. This Ad for this nail polish was also amazing. It had a display of a hand with their nails painted in this colour and the lighting had a blue hue to it which gave it a mysterious vampire-ish feeling to it (not Twilight).

-Photo from Sephora.com

PROS: I really love the glitter and colour. It’s a really pretty, seductive raspberry/ruby red colour that also lasted for quite some time and did not chip.

CONS: I had some trouble removing the nail polish because the glitters were quite intact with my nails.
OVERALL: I love this nail polish and it is definitely perfect for fall. I give this a 5/5J.

Review: Sephora Collection Professional Brushes in #22 Angle Liner

This is one of my makeup brushes that I use on a daily basis. I use this to fill in my brows, line my lower lash line and sometimes my upper lash line when I use gel liners. It was quite pricey, but I took into consideration the quality of this brush and it is expected that I will be using this for the long term.

PROS: I like how it is very light and easy to use. The quality of the brush is also really nice. It is soft to the touch, but at the same time stiff where it is connected to the metal to ensure a precise application. On top of that, it looks very sleek and professionalJ.
CONS: It was quite expensive. I had to really look into it before actually making the purchase.
OVERALL: It’s a really nice brush and I would recommend this to people who use makeup on a regular basis to really get the value out of it. I give this a 5/5J.
